Supporting Friends of the Earth Australia (FoEA)

FoE is a membership based community organisation. We aim to generate a broad mix of income sources – at present this is largely a combination of support of individuals, foundations, and our own fund raising efforts (including the community-based businesses we operate in Melbourne and Brisbane). Occasionally we receive funding from businesses.

How we acknowledge supporters:

• Through our annual report (distributed in hard copy and via our website)

• through an acknowledgement in our magazine and newsletters (reaching roughly 5,000 subscribers in Australia)

• through specific mention where the support is for an event, meeting, conference or equivalent (including use of logo on public materials).

All donations over $2 are tax deductible

Sponsorships

FoE-Australia considers sponsorship opportunities on a case by case basis.

FoE greatly values our independence. According to our international mission statement, we are not able to endorse 'people, parties or products'. This means that we cannot enter into arrangements where financial or in-kind support from a company states or implies that we endorse the company involved.

It is acceptable for donors to state their support of FoE in their annual reports or to advertise that they have financially supported us, provided this does not imply we endorse the company or it's products. Anything more substantial, including use of the actual logo or other images needs to be negotiated on a case by case basis.

Sponsorships can be:

• a general contribution to the organisation

• targeted to one of our existing campaigns or projects

• targeted to a new initiative proposed by the donor. These are negotiated on a case by case basis and need to be consistent with our values and over all strategic plan
