The FoE Melbourne Anti-nuclear and Clean Energy collective has worked for over thirty years researching, educating and actively campaigning on nuclear issues in Australia.  We aim to protect people and the environment from damage by the nuclear industry, we support indigenous and non-indigenous communities opposed to uranium mining, transport and dumping of nuclear waste.  We promote cleaner, safer alternatives such as energy conservation, efficiency and use of renewable sources.

With the federal government and the nuclear industry pushing to expand uranium mining and falsely presenting nuclear power as a 'solution' to climate change for other countries, our campaign work is absolutely vital. We have worked hard to make sure nuclear power is off the agenda
for Australia and it is a very important time to ensure that we stop contributing to the growing problems of nuclear weapons proliferation, long lived high level nuclear waste, risk from accidents and transport of nuclear materials around the world through our uranium exports.  We also have an
important role to play in supporting the introduction of real alternative energy solutions.
