Bisphenol A
The controversial plastic ingredient Bisphenol A is found in a growing number of consumer goods such as baby bottles, plastic microwave food containers and canned food linings, and has proven links with a wide range of health disorders from infertility, breast and prostate cancer, to thyroid malfunction, attention deficit syndrome and recurrent miscarriage.
Australian regulators continue to down play the harmful effects of the chemical called Bisphenol A (BPA), which is extensively used in plastic consumer products.
This project of FoEA seeks to educate consumers about the risks associated with exposure to the chemical as well as encouraging regulators to act immediately to reduce the risk to the Australian public.
