Breaking news on Bisphenol A

Canada has become the first country to to ban toxic baby bottles. Will our regulators ever follow?


On October the the 18th, Canada became the first country to formally declare bisphenol A hazardous to human health. It officially informed the baby-product industry it will no longer be able to use the chemical in baby bottles (by 2009). The Canadian Government has also allocated an additional $1.7 million over the next three years to fund new research projects on bisphenol A. This research is intended will help to address key knowledge gaps in both the Canadian and international scientific community.
