Bali Climate Update and Major Donor Fundraiser

FoE Climate Justice Campaigners Steph Long and Emma Brindal and Charlotte Sterrett from Oxfam are back from the UN Climate Change talks in Bali. They will be sharing their experiences and vision at a series of events in Katoomba (Jan 20), Sydney (Jan 22), Melbourne (Jan 24) and Brisbane (Feb 13).

The campaigners will discuss:

• FoE’s work on climate refugees and other climate justice issues

• the outcome of the negotiations, and the role that Australia played

• the movement building for climate justice that Friends of the Earth was involved in at the climate talks in Bali

• how the negotiations will influence Friends of the Earth Australia’s campaign work in the coming year

• What you can do for climate justice

One of the ways you can help is by contributing financially to the Climate Justice Campaign. We are particularly seeking leadership funding ($1,000 to $10,000) for core campaign costs in 2008. Of course, any level of contribution is welcome and makes a difference.

If you are unable to contribute financially, there are many other things you can do for climate justice, so come along and find out.
