The time to act ... is now

its not too late to stop runaway climate change

The debate is over. The science is in. We need to act now – at many different levels.

There are many things that we can do in these settings to make a difference — both big and small. We can make changes to our own lifestyles and reduce our emissions at home, in the office and in the community. In doing so, we can encourage and influence others to do the same.

Businesses and corporations can do a lot to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. In some cases, this could be achieved through improvements in energy efficiency and by doing things a little differently. In other situations, more wholesale changes will be required.

We also need to encourage our governments to take climate change much more seriously. Unfortunately, they do not seem to understand the urgency of the situation. They continue to support fossil fuel technologies and the old ways of thinking that caused global warming in the first place.

You can also help greatly by donating to our climate change work, or by becoming involved with a local Friends of the Earth climate action group. Almost all of our climate change work is done on a voluntary basis, and we need funds to support this extremely important work.
