Free Jamal Juma Now
A member of Friends of the Earth Palestine, a prominent environmental campaigner, has been arrested by the Israeli police. He's now in prison along with others campaigning to protect the local environment through the "Stop the Wall" campaign between Israel and Palestine. Please take a few minutes to take part in solidarity actions and listen to our radio coverage.
This Christmas, we will be thinking of Jamal Juma', his family and all the Palestinian environmental activitists who dedicate their life to the defense of the environment, and the rights of the Palestinian people to access their lands. Please join the Friends of the Earth Asia Pacific campaign for Jamal Juma's release: a Friends of the Earth environmental anti-Wall prisoner! It is crucial that global civil society stands in solidarity with their Palestinian counterparts.
A week before Christmas, Jamal Juma, 47 years old, was arrested by the Israeli occupational forces. Juma' is a leading Palestinian civil society organizer and the coordinator of the Palestinian grassroots Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign.
Friends of the Earth Asia Pacific is appalled by this action and recognises the legitimate right and free passage of the Palestinian people to their lands, its waters, natural resources and environmental spaces. Friends of the Earth Asia Pacific recognises this action as continued abuse of the Israeli authorities on the Palestinian people and call on the immediate release of Jamal Juma!
Friends of the Earth Asia Pacific appeals to the international community who believe in environmental justice and human rights to join us in our call for juma' immediate release.
