Indigenous Land and Rights

Many local FoE groups work in partnership with Indigenous communities.
FoE acts as the secretariat for the Australian Nuclear Free Alliance (ANFA). Details here.
This includes shared campaigns over uranium mining in SA and the NT and the proposed radioactive waste dump. For further details, please see here.
FoE works with the Mooka and Kalara United Families, the traditional owners of the Lake Cowal area in western NSW, in opposing the goldmine built by Barrick Gold. Details here.
In Victoria, FoEA is working with the Yorta Yorta people to gain protection of the Barmah - Millewa forest on the Murray River. For details check here.
West Mallee Protection is a FoE affiliate based in Ceduna, in South Australia. which supports the Kokatha Mula Nation peoples and projects. WMP emerged from an alliance between environmentalists and Kokatha Mula people who share concerns and see the need for positive action to protect the outback Ceduna region in South Australia.
