Mambo Takes on Sydney Reactor

Mr and Mrs Sydney Australia would prefer not to have a nuclear reactor situated halfway up their arse. The community campaign to halt a second nuclear reactor in Sydney received a boost recently with support from one of Australia's most noted designers. Reg Mombassa, the name behind the popular Mambo clothing brand, has created a new image and shirt to highlight the risks the reactor poses to Sydney and beyond. The shirts are available at Mambo's Sydney outlets or direct from their website and each sale will help fund work against the reactor.

Despite the presence of two on-site earthquake fault lines, inadequate emergency preparedness and no credible plans for handling radioactive wastes, the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation is pushing ahead with the plan.

Opposition to the ill-conceived plan is growing with increased rallies, actions and events planned for the coming months with further information available from www.reactnow.org
