Renewable Energy
Friends of the Earth Melbourne's renewable energy campaign is run through the Yes2Renewables.org website. The campaign aims to promote the benefits of renewable energy especially for regional communities: jobs, income and clean energy. We publish positive examples of renewable energy from around Australia and the world.
Much of our campaign is focused on refuting the various myths about wind farms (that they are too noisy, uneconomic, and so on). We are working to overturn the Victorian state government's draconian anti-windfarm planning laws introduced on August 29, 2011.
Sustainable Energy Now (WA) is an affiliate of Friends of the Earth Australia that was formed in 2007.
SEN aims to show that renewable energy can sustain our energy needs in Western Australia, with particular focus on the state’s main electricity grid, the South West Interconnected System (SWIS).
