Sustainable Food Book
Up one levelSustainable Food Book There is a lot of discussion about organics and non-GMO food. Both of these will be the cornerstone of any form of 'sustainable' agriculture. But will it end there? There is the danger that agro business could produce large scale non-GMO, certified organic food and, ecologically and culturally, this would still be disasterous for both people and planet. Friends of the Earth is developing a sustainable food program, which looks at the ecological and human rights dimensions of food production, including energy intensity/ local production and food miles, ownership of food production and distribution, labelling, international trade, food security and equity. We are currently working towards producing a book which will explore what may constitute sustainable agriculture. We would welcome your involvement.
