FoE Australia launches Anti-Nuclear Fundraising Campaign

BETTER ACTIVE TODAY, THAN RADIOACTIVE TOMORROW! Friends of the Earth Australia launches a National Anti-Nuclear Fundraising Campaign.

For over 50 years, FoE Australia has been fighting nuclear threats. We were founded by anti-nuclear campaigning, when we fought against a reactor that was going to be built on French Island in Victoria, all the way back in 1974.

This year’s election put the threat of nuclear power back in the spotlight. Peter Dutton and the Coalition gave false promises of the capability, cost and safety of nuclear. It was not evidence-based and closely connected to the agenda of derailing the renewable energy transition.

While the Coalition was defeated in this year's election, the nuclear threats never end. Which is why we need your help. With AUKUS nuclear submarines enjoying bipartisan political support, nuclear power still embedded in the Coalition's energy policies, controversial decisions looming regarding nuclear waste management, and threats to expand uranium mining, we must continue campaigning for a nuclear-free Australia.

Over the summer we are raising funds to support our National Anti-Nuclear Campaign and core operations. We run on the smell of an oily rag, and being committed to our values, we never take money from political parties, big banks or extractivist industries. As a result, we rely on the generosity of people like yourself to help make sure we can stand up to the powers that be.

You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to keep the grassroots pressure on the federal government to ‘nuke nuclear’.
