Our campaign: Bill Busters!

We are currently campaigning for a mandatory minimum energy efficiency standard for all renters, whether in social housing or the private market.

It is unacceptable that people who don't own property are forced to live in sub-standard, energy inefficient homes. We want to see a strong standard which supports low-income tenants. This could be paid directly by landlords to improve their homes, or subsidised through state support and the record retail profits of large energy companies. We believe a strong energy efficiency standard for residential housing would cut bills and emissions, improve health outcomes and generate meaningful employment.
