Canberra: Call on COAG to stand up for renewables!

[Check here for our response to the COAG meeting].

The fossil fuel sector has mounted an aggressive attack on South Australia’s renewable energy leadership in recent weeks.

These interests are trying to undermine renewable energy’s reputation and destabilise states who are taking leadership, such as the ACT, SA, and Victoria.

The coordinated attack on renewable energy is an attempt to pressure state and federal energy ministers into a pro-gas agenda at the upcoming COAG Energy Council meeting in Canberra on Friday August 19.

What's the antidote to the smear campaign of fossil fuel backers?... THE COMMUNITY!

COAG_rally_Canberra_Aug_2016.pngSolar Citizens and Friends of the Earth are calling on community members who support renewables and climate action to join us for a SNAP RALLY at the National Convention Centre Canberra. (Time of rally to be confirmed, so stay tuned for more info).

With your help we'll call for state and federal energy ministers to stand up to the fossil fuel bullies who will do anything to stop our transition to 100% renewable energy.

It's time COAG backed a policy agenda that delivers 100% renewables by 2030, strengthens the NEM, and protects farmland from risky onshore gasfields.

Join us to ensure the community is setting the COAG agenda next week, not the fossil fuel lobby.

NOTE: Please RSVP here so we can inform you about the time of the snap rally. We'll let you know ASAP.

Event coordinated by Solar Citizens and FoE’s Yes2Renewables.
