The shift to renewable energy is not just a necessity; it’s an incredible opportunity to shape a brighter future for our regions, and build a legacy of good jobs, revitalised industries and thriving communities.
On Sunday June 15, join us to celebrate the huge opportunities and benefits of wind energy on #GlobalWindDay.
This Global Wind Day, we want to send a strong message about the opportunity and need for creating good jobs in wind energy – onshore and offshore.
According to a joint Union-CSIRO report, offshore wind could support up to 8,000 jobs a year, providing a transition for workers currently employed in the offshore oil and gas industries, as well as onshore workers in fossil fuel industries -. And the Global Wind Energy Council has found jobs in onshore wind will need to double this decade to reach Australia’s renewable energy targets.
