The Lutruwita Activist and Mutual Aid (LAMA) Social Centre will be a community space rooted in solidarity-based justice; a hub for ecological, social, decolonial, anti-repression, anti-capitalist and radical care activism.
The LAMA Collective is a coming-together of members from activist collectives around Nipaluna/Hobart working towards environmental and social justice. The Social Centre fills a crucial gap in Lutruwita/Tasmania’s activist landscape - a shared space where groups can freely meet, hold events, collaborate, cross-pollinate and support one another to create a better world. Alongside fundraising efforts beginning in late 2024, the LAMA Collective also publishes independent radical media from Lutruwita/Tasmania’s fertile grassroots ecosystem.
