Donate to NWTAS for Clean Oceans

NWTAS for Clean Oceans is a community group based in northwest Tasmania. They are driven by a strong sense of responsibility for the legacy we leave for future generations.
They have pledged to commit time, energy and resources to this cause but are relying on fundraising and personal contributions to fund a legal action against federal Environment Minister Murray Watt.
NWTAS for Clean Oceans need your support to win this case.
The Federal Court hearing began on 11 February 2026, to challenge Minister Watt’s controversial decision to allow industrial fish farming to continue unchecked in World Heritage-recognised Macquarie Harbour, on Tasmania’s west coast.
Macquarie Harbour is the last remaining habitat anywhere in the world for globally unique and endangered Maugean Skate. Maugean skate are recognised for their World Heritage value because they have been around since the time of the dinosaurs.
Industrial fish farming in Macquarie Harbour is recognised as the primary threat to the Maugean Skate.
While legal fees have been reduced, they still need to raise funds to cover some legal expenses, expert witnesses and court costs. Please give generously to Save the Skate!
