Save Victoria Park Inc. is a community-driven advocacy group dedicated to protecting Victoria Park, an area also known as Barrambin or Walan, in Brisbane. We advocate for preserving this vital green space as a sanctuary for recreation, wildlife, and cultural heritage, ensuring it remains accessible for future generations. Through community engagement, peaceful protests, and fundraising efforts, we strive to amplify the voices of Australians who value parks over concrete developments.

Our major goals are to -

  • Promote the enhancement and protection of the cultural and heritage values associated with Victoria Park. To support these objectives, Save Victoria Park aims to deeply understand and help protect the cultural significance of Barrambin
  • Ensure that no stadiums or similar structures are built in Victoria Park
  • Protect the park in perpetuity through legislation.

The action group originally formed in January 2020 under the name Victoria Park / Barrambin Residents Action Group (VPBRAG) in response to the council’s plan to re-develop the park. In December 2024, the action group became incorporated as Save Victoria Park Inc.
