#148: The Military-Industrial Complex

Submissions Open Now. Deadline: 10th April 2024

Since October, the anti-miliatism movement in so-called Australia has seen some very significant growth. Communities are coming together with well established organisations and groups to stand up against the militarisation of our communities and governments, and specifically to stand in solidarity with those affected by it globally.

The next edition of Chain Reaction Magazine (#148) is a special edition. We want to provide a platform for those who have been most active in the rapidly growing anti-militarism movement in so-called Australia. We would like to hear your stories, analysis and reflections on anti-militarism and the military-industrial complex.

We would like to invite you to contribute to this edition, and we’re particularly keen to hear contributions that shine an intersectional lens on this topic.

As always, we’re on the lookout for:

  • Analysis pieces
  • Campaign updates
  • Interviews
  • Artwork
  • Poetry
  • Creative non-fiction / creative fiction
  • Book Reviews

We welcome contributions from people with any level of experience writing articles/being published. We're more than happy to support you during the process, whether that's talking through your ideas, offering comments on an early draft, or coming up with alternative mediums that work best for you.

Unfortunately we cannot pay for contributions, although we do have a small fund for First Nations contributors. All contributors get a free copy of the edition.

Submit your final piece through the jotform link by 10th April 2024.

Please note our timeline: All contributions must be received by April 10th. After this time, the editing collective will get in touch with you to work with you on any edits required, and get your ok on a final proof of the article. Please be ready to work on any necessary edits to your piece after April 10th.
