Chain Reaction is a micro journal and magazine, published by Friends of the Earth Australia since 1974.

The publication, in its current format, is produced as a collectible print magazine every year, and activists, writers and thinkers are encouraged to submit essays, articles, art and poetry for publication.

Chain Reaction has a well-earned reputation for being at the forefront of debate on environmental and social issues, with many contributors themselves on the frontline of these struggles. It is an example of local, radical, independent media that is deeply embedded in the movement.

Embracing debate and confronting controversy head on, its long pedigree of contributors, coupled with its open approach to new and diverse perspectives, means it continues to act as a nexus point and public record of radical activity and thought within Australia.

Subscribe to Chain Reaction to get the print magazine delivered straight to your doorstep at the end of each year, as well as receiving exclusive access to two online e-publications annually, providing up-to-date news and analysis from the Chain Reaction team.

Subscriptions are $40 annually, and go directly to covering the costs of producing the magazine.
