After our national conference in Adelaide in February 2018, the GMFAA hosted an election forum at which Greens MLC Mark Parnell made the ground-breaking proposal that South Australia may use state powers to require GM food to be labelled.
The GM–Free Australia Alliance Inc was founded in 2008. We are an independent not-for-profit alliance of groups averting the threat of Genetically Manipulated (GM) foods and crops in Australia and beyond.
Our GM-Free Shopping List empowers shoppers to access safe food and avoid GM risks to human health, environment and markets. Download the GM-Free Shopping List
We oppose GM companies and their ownership of seed patents, industrial farming, and their control of food supplies. Sustainable farming and healthy food are essential to everyone’s future.
We advocate for strict regulation of all the new GM techniques (CRISPR, gene editing and others). The Alliance supports member groups in hosting events nation-wide to alert and inform industry and the public.
